Bellman og de danske guldalderdigtere – En studie i litterær reception
By Jens Kr. Andersen
This book is in Danish.
This book is about a literary cultural meeting. In C.M. Bellman's Fredmans Epistlar og Sånger as in all anacreontic poetry a theme of wine and love-making is entertained. These are things to be enjoyed instantly for "Döden på dig väntar" ("Death is awaiting"). Behind an elegant rococo form a style of life is taught which is frivol at times crude. The Danish biedermeier literature jealously guarded the art decorum but at the same time borrowed, musically and literarily, from Bellman. How does such a reception full of contradictions pan out? Jens Kr. Ander, lecturer in Danish literature at Copenhagen University and dr.phil with a three volume work on Holberg's comedies, explores Bellman traces in 20 significant authorships from the 19th century. The borrowings from Bellman in the literature of the Danish Golden Age are registered (as a collected register in the back of the book), analyzed (described in their new, Danish context) and classified in types, the last on the grounds of a mathematically founded systematics, developed here for the first time, but for general application within comparative literature studies.
